My 3x great grandfather John Wallace b 16 Aug !812 Cramond was the son of David Wallace and Wilhomenia (Menie) Mitchel.

John Wallace married Christina Smith 06 June 1834 (Cramond) and had four sons, David (22 Jan 1836) Charles (23 Oct 1838) John (14 May 1848) and James (19 Oct 1850). John was a quarry labourer in 1851 living in Rose Cottage, Davidsons Mains and then a labourer/gardener with the family living in Granton House Lodge from at least 1851 to his death 03 April 1876.

Three of the sons became gardeners - David in Govan, Charles at St Catherine's Lodge, Liberton and James (my gt,gt grandfather) at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Glasgow.

If anyone has photos of Granton house/Lodge, Rose Cottage or St Catherine's Lodge it would be wonderful to see them. Not sure what st Catherine's was the lodge to? Any other info or links would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.
